MORL follows ROAR rules with the following changes.
Mod Motors: ROAR approved brushed or brushless.
Batteries: ROAR approved batteries only, 6 cell NiCad, 6 cell NiMH or 2S LiPo. Hard case only ALL classes.
AMB scoring: Personal transponders required, house transponders available ONLY for novice class.
Format: Three rounds of IFMAR qualifying if the third round has been started by 4:00pm, then mains for all participants. Five minute races, max. two minute grid time between races. If there is 200+ entries then MORL officials will decide prior to the end of the 2nd round if there will be a 3rd round of qualifying. In the event of delays of any kind, the schedule may change at the discretion of the MORL directors.
Marshaling must be done by a registered driver or someone 16+ years old. Marshals must be in place at the 1 minuet 30 second point between races or they will lose a lap off their best qualifier/main. Failing to Marshal in the main forfeits all points for the weekend.
Masters – Age 40+, ROAR legal brushless 13.5+ trucks, short course not allowed.
Novice – Run what you brung 1/10th scale only. Race officials may require you to move into the regular class. Any driver competing in novice, may only run the novice class.
SC Class - ROAR rules in this class. The Titan motor will be be allowed in the SC class. The Losi Strike is not legal for this class. Ribbed tires are not legal. Air holes may be cut in the rear of the body but any roll cages and rear bumpers must stay intact. No holes in the front of the body except properly molded in the body and behind a upraised scoop intended for a vent. Must run SC specific tires, 1/8th scale tires are not legal. No cut tires are allowed.
SC Mod - Full body trucks in 2WD running any ROAR legal motor. Must run SC specific tires, 1/8th scale tire is not legal. No cut tires are allowed. Ribbed tires are not legal.
SC 4WD – Full body SC 4wd Truck running ROAR legal motor (550 motors are legal, 1/8th scare motors are not. 2s hard case LiPo). Must run SC specific tires, 1/8th scale tire is not legal. No cut tires are allowed. Ribbed tires are not legal.
ALL SC Classes -The ROAR rule 7.3.7 that states that the tread width may not exceed the width of the wheel. For the 1/10 Short Course 2WD and 4WD categories, we have decided that as long as the tire is SC specific, that at this time it will be legal for MORL compitition as long as it is not a ribbed tire.
1/8th Electric - ROAR rules. Hard packs required. 2S, 3S and 4S LiPo only. |
